<note>The aimed of this research was to find out the effectiveness of Mind Mapping to Teach Speaking Skill. The subjects of this research were the eighth grade students at SMP N Terawas. This research was a quantitative research and population of the eighth grade students in SMP N Terawas is 80 students. The researcher used cluster random sampling technique in taking the research sample with a total of 26 students. To collect data, the researcher used oral test in pre-test before used Mind Mapping Technique, treatment used Mind Mapping Technique and post-test after used Mind Mapping Technique. The result of the data showed that the average score of pre-test was 49,33 and the average of the post-test was 70,41. It means the score of the post-test after used Mind Mapping Technique higher than pre-test before used Mind Mapping Technique. In conclusion, the Mind Mapping Technique is Effective to Teach Speaking Skill in Eighth Grade Students at SMP N Terawas.
